Stone House Extension, Wellington

This is a house extension Keith Farmer Building Services Ltd designed, gained planning permission and building regulations approval for, and built. It uses a modern product in the wall construction called Surecav which acts as a moisture barrier and formwork for the stonework. It negates the need for two leaves of blockwork otherwise required for the stone leaf to rest against. It also allows you to increase the cavity insulation to 75mm as a 50mm clear cavity is no longer required. The job also involved installing a lot of false douglas fir beams inside and under a roof overhang area, and paving the garden. Materials used in this project were largely reclaimed and/or locally sourced.
